The Rule of 31 gives bowlers and coaches a practical starting point for identifying where a bowling ball should exit the oil pattern and begin moving toward the pocket.
The calculation is simple. Translating that number into a breakpoint that a bowler can clearly see and apply on the lane can be more challenging.
